As I was creating battlers for my current project, I felt the urge to start with the typical starting enemy in classic RPGs: the slime. I was interested in doing more than just a solid color with a shadow and a highlight. I wanted it to feel almost translucent, so with some glancing around the internet at some references, I had an idea of how I wanted to do this. Here is the final product with it's animated gif counterpart to show how it looked during the design process. I'm sure more work could be done to it, however I am happy with how it turned out and will fit in well with my game.
